Hermitage located at the exit of Astorga.
Mandatory stop on the Camino de Santiago. Built in the sixteenth century.
It has a legend where the name comes from. A pilgrim and her son stopped to drink water in a well next to the temple and the boy hurried to the bottom. The mother called on the Ecce Homo to rescue him and started raising the water level to the surface so that the child was saved. Mother and son were able to continue their pilgrimage.
Thanks to that miracle, it is known as Ermita del Ecce Homo.
