The famous bridge known from the French folk song is only half of it. A chapel is part of the structure. The bridge is together with the Pope's Palace World Heritage Site.

The Avignon Bridge, made famous by the famous song, comprised 22 arches and reached up to the Tower of Philip the Fair in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon. The Nikolauskapelle on one of the bridge pillars consists of two churches lying one above the other. A museum area presents the history and iconography of the bridge on the one hand, and the scientific research that made its virtual replica possible on the other. This can be seen on touch screens.

Also called Pont Saint-Bénézet, is the ruin of an arched bridge which stands only to half and is also accessible. It runs over the eastern branch of the Rhone. Originally it once consisted of 22 arches and had a length of almost 1 km
