    As so often in the south, the church is the towering building of the city. Here, too, St. Emmeram impresses with a size that is towering for such a small town as Wemding.
    In the past the churches were the cultural and economic center of the cities, mostly the market place and the town hall are in the immediate vicinity, this is no different.
