In fact, the old school building leaves an idyllic impression. During a visit it is also easy to imagine what the single school operation in the small building might have looked like with the help of so-called "corporal punishment". Under certain circumstances, this could give the idyllic impression a different color. Nevertheless, the historical value of this well-preserved building is undeniable and certainly a sight on the outskirts of Ahmsen.

What is presented here under DORFIDYLLE is not the actual highlight - the highlight is the old village school - which is located in the vicinity of the cattle pasture under the trees.
To the village school: Old School Ahmsen in Lähden
The old school Ahmsen was built in 1817 as a teaching and prayer school and now serves as a library. It is the oldest school in Lower Saxony that has been preserved at its original location.
