After Sonderburg one drives best with the ship from Flensburg. Then you can comfortably look at the harbor and the fortress. After a stroll through the shopping street treat yourself to a coffee or an ice cream. We love the Danish hot dog. Of course you can also drive to Sonderburg by car, but it is a big detour and it pulls out.

An interesting detail of this city is that most of its part, including the old town, is on the island of Als, while the western part is on mainland Jutland. The 250 meter wide Alsensund, which can be crossed over two bridges, runs between the island and the mainland. This geographical feature makes the city particularly scenic.
