The landscape around Ems/Dollart is definitely worth a bike ride. The network of paths is excellent, the signage is specially designed for cyclists with many cycle routes and the tourism industry is geared towards cyclists. Contrary to all prejudices about the buttoned-up Northern Lights, the inhabitants of the region are friendly, open and always helpful, so that a trip by bike, where you can experience the country and its people up close, is a good way to get to know and love the region.

It can be beautiful on the dike. Then when the wind comes from backwards and pushes the bike and there are hardly any people around. Then you have plenty of space, peace and quiet. The great view, even on thicker pots, is available along the entire North Sea coast.

Seating is available every inch of the dike. From time to time there are benches. Basically, everyone has everything with them 🤡 their Poppes
