The Hönne is a river that runs in North Rhine-Westphalia. It rises in the Sauerland, near the town of Neuenrade, and after a run of around 33 kilometers flows into the Ruhr in Fröndenberg. The Hönne is particularly known for its numerous karst caves that can be found along the river, including the Balver Cave and the Reckenhöhle. These caves are not only geologically interesting, but also serve as venues for cultural events, such as concerts. Fröndenberg, through which the Hönne flows, is a town valued for its natural beauty, its hiking trails along the river and its historical sights.
