The renaturation of the Erft near Gymnich is an exciting project that racing cyclists can experience on well-kept asphalt.
The Erftverband writes:
A new section of the river is being created between the Gymnicher Mühle and the W1 weir: natural and winding. The Erft should find its own way through the landscape here. New habitats for plants and animals are developing on the riverbanks and in the floodplain. On the cycle paths and footpaths you can experience how the landscape is changing.
