Saksild Church is located in Hads Herred, not far from the coast, about 25 kilometers south of Aarhus.
A smaller nave and chancel were built in Romanesque style from boulders in the mid-12th century. At the end of the Middle Ages it was extended to the west and the tower and probably also the north-facing porch were built in Mönchsstein. The tower was a so-called stilt tower, the opening of which was later walled up.

Saksild Church's chancel and nave are from ca. 1200. Late medieval western extension with a tower modified in 1806. A decorated granite block is walled into the base of the tower.
