The former collegiate church is a baroque complex from the 18th century and is centrally located in the idyllic village of Essing in the Altmühltal.
A medieval church stood in place of today's baroque church, which was severely damaged in the Thirty Years' War and restored between 1660/61.
Between 1711 and 1717 the Jesuits built today's baroque parish church over the medieval core. The church is a paved, single-nave building with a retracted, five-sided closed, essentially Gothic choir, which was created in 1717 by Joseph Bader.

The chapel of the "Holy Spirit Monastery" originally stood here; in the years 1711 to 1717 the monastery church was rebuilt or rebuilt in the baroque style by the Jesuits. Really beautiful to look at inside, you should definitely take a look inside.

1367 Foundation of the church monastery in Neuessing by the Counts of Abensberg, who had their "fortress" on Randeck. In 1378 Bishop Konrad moved the parish from Altessing to the Neuessing collegiate chapel. He expressly adds that these two churches should be "forever together and undivided".
