In reality, nature is mercilessly subjected to human geometry—using wire mesh, shears, and saws. Living nature is treated like inanimate building material. That's just how Baroque gardens are. Undoubtedly, the pergolas possess a unique kind of beauty, but it also has something of the beauty of a Nazi Party rally or a North Korean parade.

The continuation of the circular houses in the full circle of the garden parterre form filigree arcades (Berceaux de Treillage, dt. "Arched arcade formed from laths") with portal-like passages. Architecture and nature merge indistinguishably here. The arcades are planted with Virginia creepers and flowering vines that change their appearance throughout the year.
