    Yürüyüş

Shining Cliff Woods is a great area for walking (and for mountain biking although that is not officially allowed!) but be aware that the map of the area suggests that people can walk along the west of the River Derwent to Whatstandwell and then access the train or buses. However, the caravan site (Haytop) just south of Whatstandwell is not at all welcoming and there are massive gates / fences / CCTV / Keep Out signs. You may find you either have to climb a steep hill to reach New Road or return back to Ambergate.
