With stunning views of the wild Atlantic coast and islands at the halfway point of the Slea Head Drive, the Blasket Centre is a fascinating heritage and cultural centre/ museum, honouring the unique community who lived on the remote Blasket Islands until their evacuation in 1953.

The multimedia museum has just opened and has been greatly expanded. Entrance fee is 5 euros, over 60s 4 euros.
We found it incredibly interesting and great, but we already knew a lot about the island and had already been there.
The islanders' books, even those that are otherwise hard to get hold of, are available in English and Irish.
The café was OK, no more, no less

In May 2022 everything was closed there for repairs. Outside the paths were already nicely laid out. A path leads to the sea to a small viewing platform.
Parking available.
