The circular route can be divided into two sub-routes of approximately equal length through the Lippe floodplain to the east and west of Lünen city center and is suitable for cycling and hiking. The route is signposted with the official cycle path signs and signposts with the "Lüner Lippeaue" logo.

The approx. 17 km long circular adventure trail is located in the middle of the Lüner Lippe floodplain and mostly runs away from busy roads. The route uses the edges of the terrace and the Lippedeich and thus enables views of the nature reserves on both sides of the Lippe “from an elevated vantage point” without having to enter them.
