There are always ships sailing on the Rhine. You can see the Haus-Knipp railway bridge, the Beeckerwerth bridge and the Friedrich-Ebert bridge as well as the districts of Beeckerwerth, Laar and Ruhrort on the opposite bank of the Rhine.
During floods, the Rhine foothills are occasionally completely under water.
