The Windmotor Brakepolder Medemblik is a remarkable man-made monument and historical site located near Medemblik in the province of North Holland, Netherlands. Standing at an elevation of -3.2 meters, this unique "American windmotor" or "roosmolen" is a fully operational polder mill, playing a crucial role in the region's historical water management. Introduction
Presumably for the benefit of the polder De Brake, built in 1927 WIND MOTOR, which is currently (1994) still in use. The wind engine is located south of Medemblik, north of the polder and on the south side of Brakeweg. The engine was supplied by the "Eerste Nederlandsche Windmotorfabriek" in Groningen.
Description
The wind motor consists of a concrete foundation with auger bowl and auger, as well as a steel construction supporting the motor body and wind wheel. The polder water is supplied from the southwest via a trip to the wind motor.
