The lower part of the belfry dates from the 13th century, the rest from 1608. The halls from 1366 now form part of the ground floor of the town hall, the facades of which were renovated in 1754-55 by the Liège architect Étienne Fayen.

The 18th-century rooms on the first floor are richly decorated with stucco. The reliefs in the vestibule of 1788 are signed by André Vivroux from Liège. The allegories on the mantelpiece of the council chamber-marriage hall are oil paintings by the Maastricht-Liège painter Jean-Baptiste Coclers. The cornice depicts the weapons of the eleven crafts of Sint-Truiden.

Old Town Hall Sint-Truiden on the market with the tourist office on the side of the building. Many eat-drink places on the market. On Saturday there is the Saturday market. On the other side of the town hall, you have the green market, where there are water fountains that make nice jets.
