This modest building has long been authenticated as the birthplace of Joan of Arc. It is a 15th century house located near the church of Domrémy-la-Pucelle. Born around 1412, Joan spent her childhood there. The house has been listed as a historical monument since 1840 and is labeled Maisons des Illustres. An adjacent museum is open to the public.

A lot of interesting information about the time of the saints, their living conditions and France in the late Middle Ages is offered here. The information is didactically well prepared and gives a good impression of the circumstances of Joan of Arc in her childhood and youth.

The house where Joan of Arc was born is in Domremy-la-Pucelle. Next to it is the baptistery of Joan of Arc and about 1.5 km further in the direction of Coussey the Basilique du Bois-Chênu, which was built entirely in honor of the national heroine. It is extremely worth seeing.
