Quiet and secluded, in the middle of the forests and meadows of the Lower Harz Plateau not far from the city of Harzgerode, is the “Wilhelmshof” forester's house, which was first mentioned in 1682 and in whose historic outbuildings there are holiday apartments. This is also the seat of the Ostharzes forestry company

The present-day Forsthaus Wilhelmshof was built by Vorst Wilhelm von Anhalt-Harzgerode in 1682 as Vorwerk and was used as a hunting lodge from 1690 until his death and the end of this line in 1709. After that, it was still a house with a temporary beer. Today he belongs to the state-owned farm Ostharz. Today there are also two apartments in the outbuilding of the forester's lodge.
