Southeast of Deggendorf the Isar flows into the Danube. This place can be reached on unpaved roads that lead from Plattling through a beautiful meadow landscape (nature reserve!). Whoever (like us) wants to follow the Danube downstream, should keep to the right of the Isar, then from the mouth you can reach the south bank of the Danube in an easterly direction.

Here in the unique nature reserve, the Isar meets the Danube and with it creates this impressive landscape with backwaters, alluvial forests and moist meadows and littered meadows. You can comfortably ride your bike to the estuary, great place even if the motorway is a bit disturbing.
