Before you go / drive to Santiago, you should definitely make another stop on the Monte do Gozo mountain. Here you have a great view and there is also a famous pilgrim monument: Saint Jacob as a pilgrim.

The Franciscan brother Peter Fobes writes in his pilgrim guide:
"Of course, the motives and experiences of the individual pilgrims are very personal and therefore differ from one another. Nevertheless, there are some experiences that are mentioned again and again, which are obviously common to many, especially the encounter with people who are also... Santiago. Some walk a distance together... Very deep conversations often develop and being together strengthens each other in our faith."
