This statue pays homage to Solomon ibn Gabirol, whose legacy of poetry and religious philosophy influenced 13th-century thought about Judaism. The statue depicts Ben Gabirol in Arabic attire and a somber-looking turban. In his left hand he holds a scroll relating to his poetic and philosophical works.

The Escultura de Salomón Ben Gabirol is a bronze statue of the famous Jewish philosopher and poet Salomón Ibn Gabirol, who was born in Málaga around 1021 and later moved to Valencia. The statue is located on Calle Zegrí in Málaga and pays tribute to his contributions to philosophy and poetry. The statue is the work of American sculptor Hamilton Reed Armstrong and was unveiled in 1969. Salomón Ibn Gabirol, also known as Avicebron, is depicted in a thoughtful pose, absorbed in his thoughts.
