In Baden-Württemberg, the Huguenot and Waldensian path first follows the historical footsteps of the exiles. It leads from Schaffhausen through the Hegau via the old postal route, but then swings onto the western route taken by the refugees on the eastern edge of the Black Forest to Calw. From there, the cultural long-distance hiking trail is no longer based on the two paths that the refugees took to Frankfurt, but instead leads along the many Waldensian and Huguenot settlements that were founded around 1700 in Heckengäu, Kraichgau and the Odenwald.
