If you are here on the Main-Danube Canal, you should not miss the visitor platform of the Eckersmühlen lock. As with the locks in Hilpoltstein and Leerstetten, the lock drop height is 24.67 meters, which is the largest drop height that has ever been built in Germany.

A very impressive building with visitor platform. The lock Eckersmühlen was built in the period from 1980 to 1985 as part of the construction of the federal waterway Main-Danube Canal and put into operation on 15 June 1991. The upper water has a height of 381.33 m above sea level. NN, the lock underwater is at 356.66 m above sea level. NN. As with the locks in Hilpoltstein and Leerstetten, the lock drop height is 24.67 meters and thus has the largest drop height that has been built in Germany so far.
