The massive stone bears the inscription "Liberation of the Rhineland 1.7.1930". Below is the Frei-Laubersheim court seal with the inscription "Community of Frei-Laubersheim". The liberation of the Rhineland was one of the great successes of the Weimar Republic, which was celebrated with "liberation celebrations" throughout the country.
