In the village of Kleineichen, hikers come across a church that arouses curiosity due to its very unusual architecture. It is the village's Protestant "Kreuzkirche". The patronage refers to the cross on which Jesus Christ was executed around 2000 years ago on Mount Golgotha (the word means "skull place") outside of Jerusalem. "There is no greater love than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends," Jesus is quoted as saying in the Gospel of John (Chapter 15, Verse 13).

The Kreuzkirche, built by the Forsbach architect Horst Welsch and inaugurated in 1964, is located in the middle of the countryside in the district of Kleineichen.
Around 50 years after the foundation stone was laid (on July 21, 1963), it was reopened in 2013 as a columbarium.
