You need to head south from the Tor to see this view, but it's very difficult on a bike. Most people head East and go the long way round, not so steep but don't get to see this.

Ladybower Reservoir is a large artificial Y-shaped reservoir and the lowest of three, situated in the Upper Derwent Valley. The River Ashop flows into it from the West; the River Derwent flows South, initially through Howden Reservoir, then Derwent Reservoir then Ladybower.

It was built between 1935 and 1943 and constructed due to the heavy demand for water from industrial towns surrounding the Peak District.
