The Gouverneurshuis Museum, founded in 1964, has been located in a monumental building dating from 1592 since 1985. The museum is located behind the Grote of Catharijnekerk in the center of Heusden aan de Maas. The museum complex consists of a main house and outbuildings, including a wine barn and a bequest house, and is surrounded by a beautiful neoclassical garden. The well, a herb garden, a small orchard, the view of the church and a roundel give the location the atmosphere of a protected courtyard or monastery garden.
