Steep climb up stone stairs from Barley. Can be a bit of a motorway from the Barley side, if you want a quieter walk, why not try from Downham.

An outlier of the fells of the main Forest of Bowland AONB, Pendle Hill is a superb standalone peak. At 1,827 feet (532 m), it's high enough to feel big and offers excellent views north into the Forest of Bowland and in other directions over the more populated areas of Lancashire.

Pendle is intertwined with myth and legend from jumping giants to the famous Witch Trials of the early 17th century.

We always walk from Sabden side just up from The Wellsprings pub. Nice steady climb that flattens out for a while and a nice steady decent back the way you came.
