This chapel was planned to be built in 1955, when D. Antonio Ferrer and Dª Trinidad Cebrián, owners of the "la Vega" estate, donated seven hundred and eighty-three square meters to the bishopric of Ciudad Real, in order to to build a temple.

The chapel was inaugurated on March 18, 1956 by the former IX Bishop-Prior, D. Juan Hervás y Benet, accompanied by the civil authorities of the Civil Governor, deputy head of the movement, mayor of the capital and other authorities. The chapel was dedicated to the Heart of Mary, patron saint of the village, since the Claretians in those years were the ones who attended the Parish of San Pedro and as everyone knows this invocation of the Virgin Mary is their patron saint.
