The glass pyramid in the Louvre's courtyard is now one of the city's most important landmarks!

At 21.64 meters high and 35.42 meters wide, it has the same proportions as the Pyramid of Giza.

This is by no means a coincidence, but was planned precisely this way by Mitterrand and the architect I.M. Pei.
