If you go up the Zakros gorge and then do not climb left to the village of Zakros, you get to the Xeropotamos (dry river) gorge, which can be easily walked after the steep step. Green, wild and untouched. You can get to Kato Zakros via a beautiful καλντερίμι. On the barren plateau that follows, the path gets lost at times. You just have to concentrate on the red dots, which are in principle sufficiently attached!

The path through the gorge is not easy. Lots of rocks and rubble mean that you have to make slow progress. At the end there is a steep section with climbing. That is why good footwear and safety when walking and light climbing are essential.
