After three years of construction, the current building was completed in 1938 as the largest stage north of the Alps at the time. It was almost completely destroyed during the war and rebuilt. Lucky. There are great pieces. A Kurt Weill Festival every year. If you can, you should definitely take part in a back stage tour.

The theater now has a capacity of around 1,100 spectators and is equipped with one of the largest revolving stages in Germany. In October 2013, the multi-genre theater was included in the German Cultural Council's Red List of Culture and classified as endangered in category 2.
