the old entrance gate to Hagenbeck Zoo is on the corner of Hagenbeckallee and Hagenbeckstrasse. It used to be the main entrance to the zoo, today a fence has been put up through the bars of which you can only get a glimpse of the imposing gate. If you are inside the zoo, you can admire the gate up close and walk through it.
The gate is currently being renovated - it is packed.

The fish wholesaler Gottfried Claes Carl Hagenbeck exhibits six seals in Hamburg St. Pauli.
Hagenbeck buys six seals from some Finkenwerder fishermen and presents them to the public on the Spielbudenplatz. Hamburgers come in droves to see the cute sea creatures. A sensational chance success - and the beginning of a great story.

Despite the indoor enclosure being closed due to corona, the visit is worthwhile. The animals are in the outdoor enclosures and the gastronomy offers almost the usual.
Good weather would be beneficial for a visit.
