Preserving a unique heritage:
Marken holds its own place in Dutch history. The Marker Museum aims to make this uniqueness accessible to a wider audience in an attractive way. The operation of this small, special museum is part of the activities of the Association Historical Island of Marken (VHEM).
This association stands for:
• preserving the characteristics of the island of Marken for posterity;
• preserving and promoting the "beauty of the island";
• collecting, preserving, and processing source material relevant to the history of Marken in the broadest sense of the word.
