"The more than 30-meter-high Malakow tower of the former Prosper II mine, shaft 2, is one of the few surviving masonry towers in the Ruhrgebiet, and the imposing structure with its richly structured architecture was built in the style of historicism.

The Historical Society Bottrop e.V., together with the Foundation for Industrial Heritage Management and Historical Culture, has set itself the task of repairing and remodeling the Malakow Tower. Meanwhile, the monument is established as a place of mining and migration history, as a cultural venue and as a sports venue for climbing. The shaft II was built 1871 to 1875 like a fortress. In 1896, the tower was provided with a steel framework, which was then changed twice in the 20th century. The final state is preserved today.
Inside, a ballroom is housed today as the Historical Society.
Even an indoor climbing paradise was created there after the end of the promotion.
