The Castellet of Perpignan (also known as the Minor Castle or Castillet, a shape that reflects the local pronunciation and which has been adopted as a spelling in French) is one of the most important monuments in Perpignan, and its shape is used as a symbol of the Town Hall. It was alternately a city gate and a state prison. Today it houses the Catalan Museum of Popular Arts and Traditions. It was also called Bastion or Bastille.
