Carr Mill Reservoir was a small mill pond in 1786. It was enlarged at least twice since then to supply water to the Sankey Brook Navigation and then by the railway company during the railway’s construction.
Today it's used as a powerboat racing lake and a fishing lake.
The trails around the edge make for a very nice walk, not far from the city.
