The shell cellar is a unique place: not only will you taste champagnes with a subtle taste of iodine, but at the same time you will visit the beach of an exotic sea that is 55 million years old! During this period known as the Lutetian, the Champagne region was indeed a very shallow sea that looked a lot like a lagoon. This cellar has the particularity of making you discover many species of shellfish from this period perfectly preserved in the sand, including the famous Campanile Giganteum.
