The mill of Durbuy used to be on this location (demolished in 1909). The water, which was supplied via the meanwhile reconstructed watercourse, set in motion two hydraulic paddle blades, which were arranged parallel to the Ourthe. By means of a wooden valve system, the required amount of water could be adjusted to regulate the speed of the wheels.
The mill was demolished in 1909 following the widening of the course of the Ourthe and the construction of the Pont de Liège.

The demolished mill already existed in the 14th century, as the Count of Namur visited it in 1331, and such events were documented.
After the monks (the Récollectines, who were brought in by Antonie Schetz, Baron van Grobbendonck, and were on the other side of the bridge) had tampered with the Ourthe arm, causing the mill to no longer be connected, a new one was built against the bridge in the 18th century. This one was demolished in 1909. But the building of the old one still stands.
