On October 5, 1108, Bishop Gebhard III of Constance consecrated the first stone church in Hergensweiler. The base of the tower from this earlier church still remains. The current Baroque church dates from 1712 and is approximately twice the size of its predecessor.
St. Ambrose is a single-nave church with a three-sided apse. The square tower stands on the north side of the easternmost bay of the nave.
The Baroque furnishings are almost entirely preserved.

The predecessor of the church in Hergensweiler is a stone church built in 1108, of which the tower substructure is still preserved today. The current building was built in 1712. Inside the baroque building you can see a beautiful ceiling fresco and carved Stations of the Cross.
