One of the most beautiful old towns in France with over a thousand years of history. The stone houses in the narrow streets date mainly from the 17th and 18th centuries. Recommendation: stroll until evening - the atmosphere then changes again

The old town of Le Puy is, so to speak, an open-air architectural museum. The Saint-Jean baptistery, located behind the cathedral, dates from the tenth century, for example. The buildings on Rue Pannessac are considered fine examples of classical architecture of the 17th and 18th centuries.
There are many narrow lanes with steps to explore in this steep place and, in summer, you can observe the work of lacemakers as they practice outside the doors of their houses, in full view of tourists.
