Once you have followed the Elbow Loop Path to this point hide/lock your bikes in the trees. I usually use the singular deciduous tree on the right-hand side as the path begins to incline again. You will then bushwack until you get to the river. This map makes the river look humongous, however, it is ephemeral. This is where you get to choose your own trail up the river, in other words, you get to chose where you cross the ice-cold water.
