In 1822 the church was rebuilt after a major fire and received its present appearance. The inventory with pulpit altar, galleries and stalls has been completely preserved. The church has been completely renovated inside and outside in recent years, including the historic Lütkemüller organ from 1859. In the anteroom of the church, a memorial plaque commemorates the Jewish farm in Steckelsdorf and two other plaques commemorate the former patron saints of Katte. In Steckelsdorf, the Steckelsdorfer See with its campsite and swimming area invites those looking for relaxation. The place is on the Havel cycle path.

In 1819 there was a devastating fire, as a result of which the entire village was destroyed with the exception of the windmill, the miller's house and the shepherd's house. After 1819 the reconstruction of the village began. From 1820 the reconstruction of the village church and the manor house began. The church received its current form and was inaugurated in 1822.
