If you approach the city of Geithain from the south, west or east, you will see an idiosyncratic and distinctive church building from a distance, which towers above the town hall and shapes the typical image of Geithain.
It is the parish church of St. Marien used by the Geithain district of Wickershain - one of the most beautiful village churches in Saxony.
Their building history goes back to very different times, all of which have left their mark and which are what make the building so special today.
