It has been handed down that the church burned down completely in 1638 during the Thirty Years' War. It was then rebuilt in half-timbering. In the forties of the 18th century it was solidly constructed as a simple plastered building with a massive tower built in front in the west.

After the destruction of the old church in 1638, it was first rebuilt in timber framework. In 1747/48 a massive new building was built as a baroque rectangular plastered building. The square west tower, which initially consisted of wood composite, was completely renovated in 1820 and provided with a slated onion dome. There are three bells in it, two iron bells from 1691 and 1861 and a bronze one from 1737. One of the iron bells serves as a clock bell.
