"IN MEMORIAM
HALIFAX
JD 371 KN-O
28 AOÛT
1943"
While returning from a mission over Nuremberg, Germany, the **Halifax JD371 KN-O** bomber of the 77th Squadron RAF was attacked by a German fighter and caught fire. Four crew members managed to parachute out, but one of them did not survive. The pilot, with great courage, steered the damaged aircraft away from the village to avoid disaster and it crashed in a meadow, sacrificing his life and that of the three other men on board.

"God loves every soul with undying love. He reaches out to each one with repeated, unspeakably patient offers of salvation. Even a small sign of love is enough for Him to forgive and redeem. Our dear departed ones lacked a physical life preserver; but they did not lack the spiritual life preserver, the breath of God, in which the soul can clothe itself in a tiny instant, much faster than the body could."
