The Col dala Pieres lies in the northern part of the Stevia Group—a subgroup of the Puez Group—and can be reached from the south via the Palota or Silvesterscharte cols. It can also be reached as a circular route from the Col Raiser via the Regensburger Hut and the Sieles col, or from the Regensburger Hut from the west via the Piza col. While the summit cross is not the highest point, it is the most scenic spot, offering fantastic views into the Val Gardena valley and the Sella and Sassolungo groups opposite.

The ascent from the north involves a bit of scrambling, especially at the beginning, but everything is doable.

The ascent from the Stevia hut is partly made up of steps. Only a small safety rope at the beginning.
