After the Waubaubrücke the Eilbekkanal widens to the Kuhmühlenteich. From the bridge you have a nice overview of the large water surface on the transfer of the U3 at the opposite end of the Kuhmühlenteiches. If you walk along the right bank, pass the church of St. Gertrud. The neo-Gothic building was built as a successor to the Gertrudenkapelle, which was destroyed in the Great Fire in 1842. Incidentally, former Chancellor Helmut Schmidt was confirmed there. And standing between the church and Kuhmühlenteich, you are on the geographical center of Hamburg.
