The archaeological museum also serves as the entrance building to the excavation site. Restrained, clear design language of the architecture. The view of the beach and the dunes from the terrace is wonderful. Free entry for EU citizens, so don't forget your ID. Monday is the day off.

Baelo Claudia was founded by the Romans in the 2nd century BC. The Roman buildings of Baelo Claudia are relatively well preserved. The Baelo Claudia Museum (Centro de Visitantes) offers interested visitors further information, a tour of the excavation site is possible every day - except Mondays. And yes, free entry for EU citizens and free brochures in various languages.

If you want to take a closer look at these very impressive excavations, you have to go through the museum. There is no entrance from the beach, but you can still see a lot.

The visitor center of Baelo Claudia is indeed not entirely uncontroversial because of its dimension and its location in the nature reserve, but offers extensive information on the excavations of the Roman settlement on about 2000 square meters.
